JBC Model School Donation
On Friday November 7th 2014, cornerstone was laid to start the work for the establishment of an Elementary Model Mixed School in Ghor Al-Mazraa Area with support and funding from the Jordan Bromine Company. This initiative came as a response to the Royal directives to the private sector to bear part of the social responsibility towards the local communities as this school is considered to be within the needs and priorities of the Directorate of Education in Ghor Al-Mazraa Area. Jordan Bromine Company had provided two million Jordan Dinars as funding for this project.
The cornerstone was laid by each of Minister of Education Dr Muhammad Thunaibat, Minister of Public Works and Housing Eng. Sami Halsah, Secretary General of the Royal Hashemite Court of His Majesty’s Initiatives’ Follow-Up Committee Mr. Yousif Hassan Al-Issawi, Chairman of JBC Board of Directors Mr. Jamal Saraireh, Director General of JBC Mr. Ahmad Khalifa, and Jordan Bromine plant manager, Mr. Karl Meyer. It is worth mentioning that this model school, upon its completion, will serve 900 students from the children of Ghor Al-Mazraa and will contribute to the dispensing of the leased school buildings and will mitigate the overcrowding of students in these schools. The school includes four kindergarten classrooms, 24 classrooms, and chemistry, science, and computer laboratories, library, learning resources room, and technical room, knowing that the best international standards will be applied in the design and erection of the school in terms of the area available for students in the classroom, in addition to the provision of all necessary utilities.
The Ministry of Public Works and Housing prepared the studies, designs and drawings for this school and it will assume the implementation and supervision processes in coordination with the Ministry of Education.
